Please understand the fees before you schedule an appointment with us.

You will need to make a non-refundable administration fee payment for your appointment, based on your pet's species and breed. You must cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours in advance by emailing Book@Spay4LA.org (please type “Rescheduling” in the subject line).

Important Notes:

The administration fee does not cover surgery costs. Surgery fees are due at check-in.

Cats

  • $160 + a non-refundable $45 administration fee = $205 total

  • If you have a community (feral) cat that you are trying to spay or neuter, please email us at Book@Spay4LA.org for assistance. Some areas are low cost.

  • Special Breeds (Brachycephalic Breeds): $160 + $105 administration fee = $265 total

    • If your cat is one of the following breeds OR  a mix of these breeds, a brachycephalic administration fee is required. If you do not inform us in advance of the breed of your dog, you will be turned away at your appointment. Please review list below.

  • A brachycephalic breed, such as a French Bulldog, Pug, or Persian cat, is a pet with a short, flat face and a squished-in nose. These breeds have an increased risk for anesthesia due to the shape of their breathing passages. The disorder that causes airway obstruction and difficulty breathing in these breeds is called brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome. While we recommend taking your brachycephalic breed pet to a full-service hospital with a ventilator, we can still provide spay/neuter services to your pet at an additional cost if this is not an option.

    In an effort to reduce their anesthetic risk, Spay4LA requires all brachycephalic breeds and brachycephalic mixes to receive an anti-nausea injection (Cerenia injection) to prevent aspiration pneumonia and preoxygenation prior to anesthesia. The administration of preoxygenation and an anti-nausea injection helps prevent aspiration pneumonia and reduces, but does not eliminate, anesthetic risk.tem description

  • Large Dogs (40-65 pounds): $240 + a non-refundable $65 administration fee = $305 total
